Last week's EIA report showed storage levels at Cushing -- the US oil-storage hub -- drop to a three-year-low of 49M bbls, just a 63% utilization rate. This compares with an 88% utilization rate last March. The usage drop comes amid surging oil exports, and it's had a bullish impact on oil prices that are near three-year-highs of $62/bbl. But it also means midstream companies like Enbridge and Plains All American may soon need to reduce capacity to optimize infrastructure. |
