Israel's Delek plans more North Sea purchases in upstream oil, natural gas drive Ithaca Energy, which was taken over by Israel's Delek Group last year, said Wednesday it was "actively" working on potential acquisitions to expand its North Sea footprint, while making progress on smaller projects aimed at bolstering its Stella field hub. Ithaca was fully taken over by Delek last June, part of a strategy by the Israeli conglomerate to focus on upstream oil and gas following its role in some giant gas discoveries in the eastern Mediterranean. Ithaca has struggled to fully realize its ambitions in the North Sea, which centered on the Stella oil and condensate field, a project that came on stream in February 2017 after much delay and greater-than-expected spending. The field produced around 6,000-7,000 b/d of oil in the second half of last year, according to statistics from the regulator |
