7月25日，阿联酋石油公司（SARP）宣布，它的油轮在红海南部的一个海峡停运，此前该公司称其两个VLCC受到也门胡塞民兵的袭击，稍有破坏。

Saudi Aramco resumes oil shipments through Bab el-Mandeb

Saudi Aramco is to resume its oil shipments through the Bab el-Mandeb strait with immediate effect, the company said in a statement Saturday.

Aramco suspended its oil shipments through the strait, at the southern tip of the Red Sea, on July 25 after it said two of its VLCCs were attacked by Yemeni Houthi militia, slightly damaging one, S&P Global Platts reported earlier.

It said it had suspended shipments through Bab el-Mandeb "in the interest of safety of ships and their crews and to avoid the risk of oil spill."

Saudi energy minister Khalid al-Falid said the kingdom had made the decision to resume shipments after taking necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of ships transiting the strait and the southern parts of the Red Sea, the ministry said in a separate statement Saturday.

The strait is an 18-mile-wide chokepoint at the southern tip of the Red Sea between the Arabian Peninsula and the Horn of Africa, through which 4.8 million b/d of crude and refined products transited in 2016, according to the US Energy Information Administration.

The bulk of Europe's crude oil imports from the Middle East pass through the Red Sea, while the Middle East and Asia receive key refined products from Europe via the strait.
