The divestitures, along with monetization of extra real estate and non-core investments. is expected to generate more than $1 billion in proceeds. The announcement comes as a result of Fluor’s strategic and operational review. “Together with our board of directors and outside advisors, we took an extensive and comprehensive look at our broader business to determine the best strategic path to return the company to consistent profitable growth,” Fluor CEO Carlos Hernandez said in a company statement. Additionally, the Irving, Texas-based company will now focus its efforts on projects in the energy and chemicals and mining segments.
