中国石化新闻网讯 据能源新闻3月5日消息称，据Kallanish Energy报道，在伦敦上市的中东石油天然气公司SDX能源公司周三宣布，在摩洛哥海岸发现了新的天然气资源，开启了该国新的油气勘探之路。

SDX在摩洛哥拥有5个特许经营权，持有75%的股份，这些特许经营权全部位于Gharb盆地北部，分别为:思博、拉腊米默娜北部、中西部、拉腊米默娜南部和穆莱布什塔西部。

这些生产天然气的资产以“特别低的运营成本和固定价格的天然气合同”为特征，这使它们在低油价环境中特别有弹性。

BMK-1井的钻深为1551米，在这两个目标地区都发现了大量商业化的天然气。该公司估计发现的储量约为9亿立方英尺，有可能在Beni Malek (BMK)区块及其周边地区开发100亿立方英尺的潜在资源。

SDX Energy to open new gas play onshore Morocco

London-listed, MENA-focused oil and gas company SDX Energy announced Wednesday a fresh gas discovery onshore Morocco, opening up a new play in the country, Kallanish Energy reports.

SDX operates, with a 75% stake, five concessions in Morocco, all of which are located in the northern Gharb Basin: Sebou, Lalla Mimouna Nord, Gharb Centre, Lalla Mimouna Sud, and Moulay Bouchta Ouest.

These producing gas assets are characterized by “exceptionally low operating costs and fixed price gas contracts” making them particularly resilient in a low oil price environment.

The BMK-1 well was drilled to a depth of 1,551 meters and encountered commercial quantities of gas in both targeted zones. The company estimates a discovery of roughly 0.9 billion cubic feet (Bcf), with potential to unlock 10 Bcf of prospective resources in and around the Beni Malek (BMK) cluster.

Following the OYF-2 discovery in late January, the BMK-1 discovery confirms that the prospectivity in the company’s existing core production and development area extends to the north. Based on well results and existing 3D seismic over the area, SDX believes it has opened “a new play fairway.”

“We can now plan to develop a material and valuable new prospective area to the north of our existing infrastructure in a market where we are the only gas producer and where we receive gas prices of between $10-12 per thousand cubic feet,” said CEO Mark Reid.

Under the existing exploration campaign, SDX will now move the rig to the Lalla Mimouna concession to drill the potentially play-opening LMS-2 well. The 10-well program will conclude after this drilling.
